Here We Go...

So here’s the plan:

Nino keeps his NY job but works from home in CA, following the Eastern time zone. That means we still have income. His company made him that counteroffer when he tried to resign. God truly works in mysterious ways.

We sold all our stuff to sell already – from furniture to our huge Clorox Bleach supply – except for our table and a portable heater (drawing ang bumili!). The rest of our stuff (24 boxes including our plasma TV – di namin iiwan yan no, libre yan!) we ship via FedEx tomorrow. We hired 2 guys to help us load our boxes to a van and drive to a FedEx location 5 minutes away. We ship the boxes to super generous Tita Eileen’s (Papa’s cousin) at West Covina, she receives it and keeps it in her garage until we get there.

We begin our road trip on Thursday, April 20 to Hollister, CA to stay with Rosie, my dear friend from Summit, for a few days for rest and a little vacation before driving to our final destination in Los Angeles. We will pack our car with our suitcases, laptops, bags, food and other road trip paraphernalia. We will live with my beloved uncle in Torrance, CA, Papa’s brother, Tito Ike, sharing in his 3-bedroom apartment, because just as if it was prepared for us, his housemates are vacating 2 bedrooms.

We’ll see how it goes.
